This was a creative vision for a text and content-heavy website for a sales bid.
While working for a small agency, I was tasked with creating mockups for a sales bid. Since I was given little to know information about the project, I approached it as a creative portfolio piece and created a preliminary vision as a visual representation of the potential I saw in the client's website, including a mobile screen.
I got to play around a lot with colors and be a little more creative than usually allowed due to the restraints the agency put on me and the content management system used.
With a content rich, text heavy site it's easy to get caught up in just getting content out the door and forgetting to see how users interact with the content. From the information I did have, it was clear users don't easily find information they are looking for and there were no clear journeys on the site.
The main audience was members, so my goal was to create a clear member journey on the homepage and not overwhelm users with information. I showed a potential solution for a homepage as well as a text-heavy page. Based on the content structure, a side navigation worked well here and finding high contrast font weights and sizes between headings and body copy made consuming the content much easier.
